I am Lucía Arribas, founder of Solutions Prompteur. In October 2024, we set an all-time record for teleprompter services at the Paris Motor Show, working with eight different automotive manufacturers.

The Paris Motor Show allowed us to test a teleprompter ideal for open spaces at professional events, where clients seek the freedom to move around while speaking. This teleprompter is highly sought after for trade shows and fairs because it avoids cluttering the space with cables and offers great flexibility for setup during the event. The client literally holds the script in their hand and can consult it naturally, without disrupting their interaction with the audience.

A story about the wireless teleprompter.

Around 2018, a French philosopher contacted us, stating that he would be going on a tour in major cities across Europe and had already confirmed more than twenty dates. He needed…

– A teleprompter on his mobile phone to keep control within reach using a familiar object.

– A teleprompter on his laptop, placed on a table on stage as part of the set, which he pretended to write on.

– Additional teleprompters on iPads at the control station for those managing sound and video.

– …and more teleprompters on plasma screens in the wings.

All synchronized, but wireless. Wireless and Clear.

This solution didn’t exist at the time… that’s why I was so excited.

After three weeks of working with the technical director and a technology specialist, we successfully set up a teleprompter installation to meet this request.

We had the privilege of developing it for him, and after my internal tests to verify its reliability, we were able to successfully support him during all his presentations, but…

The major limitation of the wireless teleprompter.

As I mentioned, the wireless teleprompter is highly valued by clients speaking outdoors with an iPad or tablets, providing them with great freedom of movement. This is what makes the wireless teleprompter so appealing at events like the Motor shows.

But here’s the problem: Motor shows presents extreme conditions. There are countless booths filled with journalists, cameras, microphones, antennas… an overwhelming number of wireless networks, and very powerful ones at that. In this scenario, relying exclusively on a wireless solution is risky. That’s why I always set limits.

However, in September 2024, something magical happened.

How did we shield the wireless prompter from interference to create an error-proof solution?

Donatien, one of the most technically experienced teleprompter operators on my team, proposed to me to push these limits a little further. He proposed “a lab experiment.”

In our search, we discovered that the components needed to strengthen the signal of a wireless prompter were already available on the market, so we decided to integrate them into our setup.

The Paris Motor Show has concluded after two weeks of preparation and two and a half extremely intense days supporting eight different car brands… and one incident.

This incident at the show reinforced my belief in a fundamental pillar of my profession, and I am convinced that everyone working in event business should strengthen it.

I don’t know if you experience this too, but during events like this, I feel particularly energized. I sense my true nature emerging and connecting without even realizing it, ready to take on a key role in a large-scale event. Which one?

For example: a week before the show, Anthonin (who just joined our communication team) went down to our Cannes office specifically to retrieve a single teleprompter camera ringging, as we didn’t have a spare.

Of course, I hesitated because it meant two days of travel for just one piece… but there you go. He went to get it, brought it back to Paris, and in the end, we had to use it due to an external oversight (no need to go into details).

I’m thrilled that Anthonin understood the importance of always being prepared. The importance, in such a demanding project, of being secure. He experienced the value of solving problems that don’t exist yet, no matter the cost. This obsession, in the world of events, is priceless.

During the Paris Motor Show 2024, Donatien and I took the time to test the wireless network resilience of our new Wireless Teleprompter 2.0.
